      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      16 Apr 2018
      Anonymous employee
      San Francisco, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Trulia (San Francisco, CA) in Feb 2018

      Interview

Overall process was very professional from recruiter call to the offer. Started with a recruiter arranging for a phone conversation with the hiring manager. The interview with the hiring manager lasted 15-30 minutes and I was selected for an onsite interview. The onsite was over a half day and met with about 8-10 engineers. Everyone was nice to talk to and I had a great experience.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Telephonic: Basic questions about resume and my experience. Hiring manager was very courteous. Onsite: Met with several engineers. Questions ranged from a mix of system design to data structure/problem solving/analytical questions that involved white boarding. There were a few culture fit related questions as well and some resume based questions. Each interview had two interviewers and they were all kind and professional.

I had a phone screening and after phone screening, they asked me to complete an assignment After assignment I was invited to on-site interview.. On-site interview consisted of one behavioral, one data structure/algo and 4 domain-specific interviews. Overall experience was great. Their HR did a great job! Kudos to Josie and Vlad. They are the best recruiters I had the chance to work with.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Trulia (San Francisco, CA) in Apr 2017

      Interview

I did not receive an offer but I am so impressed with Trulia, the people and the dignity and respect of their hiring process. Specifically I would like to call out Chris Vensko, he called to tell me I was close but I didn't make it. He actually sounded disappointed the team didn't pick me. When I arrived I received a thank you note with schedule, a gift bag and was given a tour. The office was pretty cool and the team was cool. If you are on the fence I'd say send in your application.
