I had a two stage video interview, first stage was basic questions about why i wanted to work for the company and why i wanted the role. Then second stage was about how I would handle certain issues and react to situations.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at TrustQuay (Fleet, South East England, England) in Nov 2021
Interview
Stage one, Zoom interview with Head of HR and one of the professional team. Quick, easy, pleasant.
Second interview in person at their Fleet office. Head of Projects came over from Jersey, to be accompanied by the MD. Interview started on time with just the HoP, the MD going to be a "few minutes late". First stage went pretty well, I was a little bit "rambling" but then that's how I am, not going to misrepresent that. HoP seemed like a decent type, personable, honest and straightforward.
MD finally rolled in 75 minutes late after the first chap was done, starting him on a bad foot. He then referred to the HoP as "he reports to me", giving it the Big Me bit.
No mate - he works with you. If you're that interested in a hard hierarchy then I don't want to work for you.
Sabotaged the interview by dropping in the phrase "it's only a job" and left certain that I didn't want to work there in the strength that the MD a. can't delegate or he wouldn't be 75 minutes late and b. came across as an egomaniac, and I've dealt with enough of them already cheers.
Seems like a nice team but the MD is an absolute deal breaker.
