I applied online. I interviewed at Tyron Ash Real Estate (London, England)
Interview
I had a 20-minute pre-screen interview via Google Meet with a Senior Recruiter. The interviewer came across as cold and uninterested. She informed me that Tyron Ash does not offer a base salary and expects new hires to pay a joining fee of £300 to access their CRM software. Additionally, after two months, they charge a monthly fee to each agent.
The salary is commission-only, with agents receiving 50% of the sale fee. They charge a selling commission of 2.5%. The interviewer claimed that, on average, their agents earn between £30,000 and £60,000 per month.
However, Mr. Tyron Ash stated on his Instagram feed that the company sells 24 properties per month. If this is shared among 120 agents bound to him, many agents likely go home empty-handed.
I was also informed that training is provided and that agents should be willing to do video shoots for their Instagram marketing. The recruiter mentioned they have a marketing team but no physical offices, despite listing two company addresses on their website.
They acquire leads by searching on Zoopla and Rightmove, followed by cold calls or door-to-door cold calls.
At the end of the interview, the Senior Recruiter told me I would progress to the next stage and that I should expect a call from a Senior Partner. I was instructed to email my details to express further interest, which I did. It was a bold faced lie.
For all their focus on social media marketing and claims of being "The Future of Real Estate," Tyron Ash feels more like the Wizard behind the curtain, pulling the levers.
It was certainly an interesting experience.
