      Vice President - Technology Interview

      13 Oct 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Pune
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at UBS (Pune) in Oct 2018

      Interview

Online test of around 30 questions in both java and database for an hour. After which I was called for their face-to-face drive on a Saturday. There all the Java resources were given a database test of four questions saying that it's not an elimination round. After giving the database test, most of the folks were made to sit for quite some time, with reasons being cited and more number of turnouts that expected. So, almost after a wait for three hours, they called me for a face-to-face with a senior panel. He asked me some design level questions and some project related stuff. Then looking at my level of experience, he asked if I was equally interested in their Mumbai office openings as there were more openings there than in the Pune office. To which, I said yes. Then he asked me to wait for minutes outside while he would check if the parallel interviews happening in Mumbai, and some panel from there would be able to take my interview in Skype or Phone. I waited for another half and hour, and then someone from the HR turned up saying that probably it won't be possible for them to arrange interviews with the Mumbai panel, but that they were keen to hire me. The HR resource told me to leave for the day and that I can expect some calls to be there in upcoming week. I waited for two more days and then dropped a mail to the HR who arranged my interview, asking for the update. She reverted after two days that she'll check and revert and then after four days I dropped another mail to her asking for update, when she reverted back saying they are not going forward with my candidature. No proper reasons being cited and one full day wasted as such. I wonder do they just call candidates to have a good headcount for 'the day' and just to showcase the good number turnout to their competitors. Useless HR panel and a very confused organization.
