They called us at 9:30 in the morning but panel was available only at 12:30.
They asked about various projects that I have worked on also tools I have used. The interview was for Automaton Testing role but all they asked was SQL. There were no programming questions, no questions on Testing Tools and Testing Frameworks.
They kept on asking more and more questions on SQL. I guess the interviewers did not have any experience in automation but were made to take interview for automation. All they knew was SQL. If you wanted someone with SQL specialization you could have gone for SQL testers or candidates who have worked on extensively on SQL. Why waste the time of a person who has an extensive automation experience but no automation questions asked.
At the end, they wanted someone who works with Db extensively and excellent in queries. In that case you should not have called up and Automation Test Engineer rather a Database Tester.
Highly disappointing when they change the job description itself during your interview.
