I applied for a placement year opportunity and Michelle was the one who interviewed me. She was very pleasant and the interview went very smoothly. It was more informal and casual and I liked the fact that I was able to show her my portfolio
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at UYR Group (South Elmsall, England) in May 2014
Interview
I met with the social media manager and one of the directors, we spoke about the role in general, my experience and why I wanted to work for the company. After the initial first stage, I was told to do a full presentation for one of the clients they work with and a full social media campaign around their latest product release. During the second stage interview, the Director challenged me to ask if I'd come up with it myself as it seemed similar to a proposal their competitors had submitted. Not entirely sure how I would get that information in the first place, and was a little annoyed at the accusation. The presentation took me quite a long time to put together (around 4 hours in total including research and putting it together) I was told I'd hear back by the end of the week, 2 weeks went by and heard nothing. I got offered another role and took that instead and in the end, I never heard back from them. Quite shameful really when someone has taken quite a lot of time out of their day to put together a presentation, attend 2 interviews, etc and you can't even respond to them with an outcome.
