      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at UnLtd

      Interview

I was invited to interview and received an hour call from the hiring manager prior to be given the opportunity to ask any questions and they would share more about the organisation. They said the phone call was done to prevent any unconscious bias, which I thought was a great idea. I had a good conversation with the hiring manager and then at the virtual interview it was value based questions, presentation on processes and companies and competency questions. The questions were phrased in a way that wasn’t for someone with my experience or what I had understood the role had required, and this made the interview experience quite stressful. I spent time deciphering what they meant and how this would be extrapolated and used for my experience but some of those questions just didn’t fit. There was also a question about processes and I thought that was odd as I had just presented for ten minutes intricately my process. I knew that I didn’t get the job as soon as the interview ended, and was told that we would receive feedback the next week. Feedback came a day or so after the date they had given. It was really constructive and helpful, it highlighted areas where I hadn’t been as strong in answering which I already knew. The interviewees were really friendly and it was clear they were trying their best to make a candidate comfortable, I would just suggest ensuring questions are phrased for relevant experience as it’s the best way to get the best out of someone.
