      Flight Attendant Interview

      5 May 2012
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

The process took 1 day. I interviewed at United Airlines in Mar 2012

      Interview

I applied to United Airlines for the flight attendant position back in the summer of 2011, when it was a Continental Airlines position. They got back to me in February of 2012 in email saying that they were conducting interviews. I was flown out to Dallas (if you live more than 300 miles away they will fly out) on the last day of their interviewing, which I kind of regret because I feel like the interviewers got lazy and switched up the process. The process was supposed to be a presentation, a group interview (where we could show our skills and knowledge), and then a 1:1. Instead it was just a presentation and a 1:1. They asked questions like: why do you want to be a flight attendant, why did you leave your last job, finish this sentence: "I dont like when customers ____", what did you like the most about your last job and what did you dislike the most about it? I feel like it was very rushed and there was no way from the pace of the interview (which lasted about 7min) that they could be able to decide if you were a good fit or not. So they originally said to be prepared to stay there all day, and everyone was only there for a max of 1 hour. Which is another reason why I felt that they switched it up and rushed everything on the last day and that some people were not given a fair shot at the job. I was not offered the position, but at this point I honestly didn't care because when they discussed the salary it was really laughable: $20,000 your first year AND you dont know where you are going to be stationed until after training AND THEY MADE IT VERY CLEAR THAT THEY WILL STATION YOU IN ANY STATE THEY WANT! It seems like a leisure job, not a career to go into expecting to get paid or to use anything you got a degree for.

      Interview

I’m heading to the F2F interview in TX. Every step so far has not been difficult for me. I also have no prior knowledge in being a FA. The hardest part so far is probably just the nerves and anxiety. Just prep well, do some research, have some basic questions and answer prepared so that even if they ask a different question you can possibly use one of the scenarios of another question and tailor it to the new one.

Tell me about a time you made a commitment to someone that turned out to be harder than you thought?

I interviewed at United Airlines (Miami, FL)

      Interview

I conducted my online assessment with questions about company policy, seating charts and customer requests with what is allowed and what isn't. I took my time with every question and reviewed it twice before submitted and now I'am invited to the virtual interview.

      Question 1

They gave you scenarios of situations and then gave you charts of company policy for food service and you had to answer helping the customer but following company policy.

      Interview

I was offered to do the recorded interview with United Airlines. I allied and took the assessment test. It was easy questions that really only you have the answer. I’m excited to go further and hopefully be given the offer of employment. The closest base to me is Houston. I eventually would like to change bases to Austin
