      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at United Airlines in Apr 2019

      Interview

I did a video interview after filling out an application online. I recorded my interview on April 22nd and haven't heard back yet. You're allowed to record your introduction as many times as you want, but when answering the questions, you're only allowed one chance but they give you a 30 second "think time" before recording starts. I was asked 6 questions in total.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at United Airlines (Houston, TX) in Aug 2025

      Interview

The hiring process consists of multiple stages: Application, Assessment, Pre-Recorded Interview, 1:1 Live Video Interview, F2F Interview and Training. The assessment is very realistic and straightforward, it presents situational questions with the expectation that the applicant has no prior knowledge in aviation and therefore must use the information provided. Once you pass the assessment, you will receive an invite to complete the pre-recorded interview. In this process, you will be provided a series of questions one at a time and given an opportunity to formulate a response. Once the timer runs out on each question you must record your response on camera in the allotted time. At the end there are about 3 written questions that are also very simple. Standard situational questions are asked during this process so STAR method is a must. After the pre-recorded video interview, successful candidates will be invited via email to the 1:1 (one on one) Live Video Interview. This will be conducted via Microsoft Teams with a recruiter. They will once again ask situational questions but unlike the pre-recorded video interview you now have the opportunity to show your personality and why you deserve this position. Questions should still be answered in STAR format. The recruiters are very nice and try their best to make the experience pleasant. When you pass the 1:1 interview you will receive an email inviting you to the interview person F2F (Face to Face) interview in Houston, TX with about a hundred other candidates. Congratulations!!! 🎉 You have made it further than hundreds of thousands of others and you deserve to celebrate! The company will send you different dates to choose from and instructions on booking your flights to and from the event. You have the option to fly in the day before or the day of, and the option to fly home same day or the day after. The f2f event was really fun and I met a lot of interesting people there. Unlike many other airlines, the atmosphere is really friendly and while you will be stressed because it’s so important you will also be comfortable expressing yourself and that’s what matters. I’ve been to many f2f’s with other companies and this experience is what really sold United for me. It was well organized and engaging. 10/10.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 8 months. I interviewed at United Airlines (Houston, TX) in May 2022

      Interview

I originally applied in 2016 and did the recorded interview, I got really nervous, and did not end up getting an offer. Last year in September, I tried again and was one asked to do the video interview. I honestly don't remember doing it, because I had applied for other airlines as well. They sent me an email about month later that they had not forgotten me but to keep my eyes open for a face to face interview. In May I received an email asking if I was still interested and if so to click a link. Next a few weeks later i received an email to schedule a face to face. I had the choice to choose between Denver and Houston. I currently live in Houston so I chose here. When I got to the interview I asked the concierge and he told me to have a seat with a group of people that were also waiting and that soon a recruiter would come down to get us. When she got down, she gathered us and asked us to have our form of ID or passport ready and needed to know the flight time if we were flying out. She then handed us name tags and escorted us upstairs. One upstairs they briefed us and showed up where the restrooms are, then walked us into a classroom. The recruiter introduced herself, told us about her experiences at United, and also gave us useful information. We then watched a PowerPoint, and then we were broken up into groups. We were taken into a separate room and broken into two smaller groups to set up bar carts. After the activity you go back to the first room, where you can fill out cards for children at the Children's Hospital of Texas while you wait to be called in one on one. My recruiter was super sweet and a Houston native which made it easier to talk to and break the ice, her questions are related to things I deal with on a daily basis which made the interview process go smoothly. After the interview with her, I was sent to another floor where I had to do my reach test and also sit in the jump seat. The recruiter said she was a little nervous because when I took my heels off I measured 5'1 and thought I wouldn't reach. Anywho after there they take you to another area where you are offered a CJO on the spot, then do a drug test on-site. I received an email for training and date that same evening. The following day asked for information to conduct a background check and also to upload my vaccination card. It has been the waiting game now and I'm just waiting for another email containing training information (where and what to pack.)
