I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Upstart
Interview
Recruiter call first. Onsite consisted of 5 different rounds focused on different skillsets.
Every employee + the HM were very pleasant and helpful. They aren't trying to trick you, they just want to get a good sense of your level of understanding of various concepts.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Signed an NDA for the whole interview process, but typical stuff with coding, stats, conceptual ML questions, etc.
I applied online. I interviewed at Upstart in Jun 2024
Interview
Well structured and well communicated interview process. Technical rounds covered statistical knowledge, coding, and ML knowledge.
I got the impression that team and management were good, competent people. I was unprepared for some of the more technical math questions and did not receive an offer.
Hard - lots of quant stats questions. Not focus on ML too much. People seem smart though - they all have very long tenure. The behavior rounds are also interesting.
