      I applied online. I interviewed at Variety Village (East Danforth, ON) in Apr 2026

      No response unless you ask for one. as an initial step, a bunch of questions were asked about the fit for the role, Location, why i'd like to join, am i alright to work evening and weekends as per business requirement. I deligently answer them all. There is also a question to write a campaign process about youth engagement and the steps i'd take to track performance. Please note, the answer must be detailed. Immediately after my reply, i receive an email to schedule an interview. On the day of Interview, there is lot of discussion about the marketing process and how i will improve campaign performance i saw a shift focus on youth engagement being part of the interview questions. 2 days later, i receive an assignment (as part of their recruitment) where i must provide a presentation with focus on youth engagement. The assignment mentions that the presentation must be atleast 8 slides, with a verbal explanantion of each slide. (this is optional, but if you want the job you will do it) I was given 3 days to complete the assignment and i submitted timely. Please note i spent a good 2 days on this assignment perfecting it to best of knowledge. After i send the response and receive an automated acknowledgement. There is complete silence for a week, i wait to hear back but no response. A week later i send an email asking for an update, 2 more days later i get a response stating, the hiring team has decided not to hire anyone as they are still reviewing internal structure and priorities.
