Interview
Applied online. After they read my application, they called me for a phone interview which just asked me basic questions about myself, my education, my experience, my availability. Also discussed pay rate. They told me at the end of the phone call that they'd like to set up a Skype interview for the next week. Before the Skype interview, I had to complete a series of exams to prove my competency. You only get one chance at each test. The Skype interview comprised of a discussion about the company, a discussion of subjects I'd like to tutor and gave me time to ask any questions. They also role played with me acting as the tutor and presented a few questions and asked me to teach it as if I was working with a real student. Found out at the end of the interview that they would be offering me a position.
Intense considering how they do a DBS check quite thoroughly and do not communicate to you much before hand, I expected far better communication as a potential tutor. If you apply here make sure you get your wage's worth

“The interview process with Varsity Tutors was clear and efficient. After submitting my application, I was asked to complete a brief subject assessment and record a short teaching demo. The instructions were straightforward, and the platform was user-friendly. I appreciated that the process allowed me to showcase my teaching style and subject knowledge without being overly time-consuming. Communication was timely, and I received feedback and next steps fairly quickly. Overall, it was a professional and well-organized experience.”
Online, one-way interview over video. No contact with Varsity Tutor personnel, and took about 25 minutes to complete. Very simple and straightforward process, and they give you time to practice each question.
