I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Verizon (Phoenix, AZ) in Aug 2021
Interview
First interview was done on the computer, simple.
Got a call to have a one on one with the store manager, but while on the phone was told that it is “team based commission” … so basically your commission will be capped by your coworkers performance and sales. If you have lazy, unmotivated coworkers - your commission will reflect that, even if you’re the highest sales person. It’ll eventually turn sour in the workplace and create resentment towards your fellow coworker, instead of creating a competitive atmosphere.
Might be what some like, but for a retail and sales position, this is a terrible structure.

Question 1
Why Verizon?
How would you handle a “difficult” customer?
not difficult. it went smoothly. long hiring process but recruiters often respond quickly. got interview the next week. but it took some time to hear back from them. however, it's not very hefty
Talked about myself, experience and goals. Then they had me and the two people interviewing me run through a mock sale, take coaching, then had us run through a sale again.
The whole Verizon process felt like wandering a maze that kept adding new hallways. It took multiple applications and assessments just to reach a recruiter, and once I finally did, the communication went quiet. Four weeks just to get to that point, and then no follow-up at all. For a role that sounded urgent, the month-and-a-half timeline made the experience feel slow, disorganized, and ultimately unproductive.
