I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Via Cibo (Sherwood Park, AB) in Jun 2017
Interview
I was interrogated, not interviewed. I was told I looked untrustworthy because I had worked in eight restaurants over 12 years. I would have thought this an asset, especially considering in every position I was moved up in seniority. I was looked at suspiciously as I was asked if I drink, smoke, do drugs, or steroids. I am a University graduate with 3 degrees (including nutrition and food science) who weighs 150 pounds, clearly I do not do steroids, and clearly I am not some street junkie. I have worked in restaurants to pay my school, which was listed on my resume, and spoken in my interview. After what I considered to be harassment about my personal and professional life, I was surprisingly offered the job, like he was doing me a huge favour offering me 3 hr split shifts, to cover an employee who was leaving (for reasons I can only imagine).
Maybe the food is okay, but the management seems very rude, judgmental, and almost militant.
