Went through initial interview with Vital Energy. I applied online and was contacted for a video chat interview with another engineer and the engineering manager. Both interviewers were very friendly and easy to talk to. The questions for this initial interview were largely focused on experience and walking through my resume rather than behavioral. I felt the interview went well but I lacked Permian experience which I think they valued very heavily. Never got any feedback or communication after the interview. Talking to several other people who have interviewed with Vital apparently this is just how their HR works. They ghost people after interviews, even emails to the HR rep who sets up interviews go unanswered. A courtesy email to just let people know the position has been filled or you are not moving on in the process would be appreciated.
