I went for an interview at Walkabout Glasgow and found out the person interviewing me hadn’t been given my CV. It wasn’t her fault — it was clear management had just handed her the task without properly preparing her. That immediately put me on the back foot, and I felt like I wasn’t being taken seriously.
I’d spent time tailoring my application and preparing for the role, so it was disheartening to be met with that level of disorganisation. To make matters worse, I was later sent a generic rejection email with no feedback whatsoever — despite the fact that the interview hadn’t been conducted fairly in the first place.
It left me feeling dismissed and demoralised. If this is how Walkabout handles candidates, it doesn’t reflect well on how they treat people more generally.
