- I was interviewed by Managing Director Inder Tiwana.
- NO branding of his company anywhere whatsoever.
- New office he's been advertising on LinkedIn looks like some hired space/ basement you walk downstairs to - very cheap and dirty.
- They were conducting short quick 15mins mass interview one after the other.
- There were A LOT of people there waiting for their second interviews and their first language was not English.
- I was brought into some cubicle office with no ceiling for interviewing.
- He asked if I was motivated by money and then took the liberty to let me know he's on a 6 figure salary. Incredibly unprofessional.
- He talked me through his pyramid scheme. He mentioned within a couple of weeks/ months I'd be trained marketing professional who then trains other employees on soft skills/ interpersonal skills because "not everyone has sales skills or knows how to build rapport". I got the impression they just about hire anyone.
- Over exaggerated how working with Westcoast Direct Solutions, employees feel like they have received a three year marketing degree - I don't think so.
- I asked what are normal interview questions like, "what do the day to day responsibilities of the role look like?" and he fumbled his way around the question. I reworded my questions and again and still couldn't give me a straight answers.
- I also asked about the pay and again, he didn't give me a straight answer.
There were major red flags so after my interview I decided to do some research and found the following:
- Started 'Empire Consulting Group Inc', which he later changed to West Coast Direct Solutions back in 2015.
- He talked about BIG clients such as TD Canada Trust Bank. There is absolutely nothing on his website about any clients. He has testimonials that don't include any company names.
- His website is a templated website and doesn't fit the screen properly.
- He has SEVEN or more positions advertised on LinkedIn which he just keeps recycling over and over again.
- All positions are somewhat the same with different titles.
Received a call late evening regarding a second interview:
- I mentioned his company is a pyramid scheme and would like to withdraw my application.
- He mentioned his big clients - not listed on his website.
- Mentioned his ratings and positive reviews - all written by him.
- If you have a look at his 'positive reviews', there's one or more written everyday consecutively for the last two months. (Have a look at his negative reviews written back in early Nov that he's tried to hide with fake positive ones).
- I pointed out all the red flags to him and things that didn't add up.
- I then had some 'Global Expansion Facilitator' review my LinkedIn profile immediately after our phone conversation. Apparently 'she' has been working for West Coast Direct Solutions for the last '8' years. This profile later changed back to 'Inder Tiwana'.
This is my fault for hitting the 'Easy Apply' button on LinkedIn when searching for jobs and not researching the company thoroughly enough before applying and going to this stupid 15 minute interview. I come from a very professional background and pride myself on being trustworthy and honest.
