I was initially contacted by the hiring manager for the position, who also ended up being the sole interviewer. After an initial call where she asked me very few questions about my resume/experience and did the majority of the talking, she proceeded to give me a contract work sample to review and discuss on the "second round". I did the work, and had a seemingly positive second interview. The manager was very pleasant throughout, complimented my work, and told me she would be in touch in 2-3 days. Never heard from her again. I would have been happy with a simple no, very rude and unprofessional after making me do unpaid labor.
