Hi! I think you’ve missed my point a little there. I understand that it was a screening call but you made an appointment. I made sure that my child is away during this time so I can speak in peace. If you agree a time you either make the call or you cancel. What your employee has done is disrespectful. The nature of the call is beside the point.

And the fact he did it twice. Shocking.

I think what I’m trying to achieve here is for it to stop being acceptable to waste time of the applicants and treat them as if their schedules don’t matter. I appreciate you may be looking at many applications there but it cannot be used to justify lack of basic manners. While I have had companies not respond to my application, this is to be expected (best ones do though and it doesn’t depend on size. I think it’s a desire and decision to do better and not be that company. You can imagine Disney gets the same amount of applicants for example but have organised it so you always hear back.). I haven’t had a single company agree a time for a call and then not honour it. I’m not trying to be hostile here. Just want to do the little I can to improve the job seeker’s experience.
