The company reached out to me on LinkedIn. The initial interview happened over a Zoom call. They ended up offering me the job the same day, an offer I gladly accepted as it sounded like a great workplace with great co-workers. As I am currently employed I quit my current job, and they two companies (my former employer) and Yarrow Co Ltd. started the process of transferring my work visa to their company instead. About two weeks after accepting the offer I get a phone call saying how they will now withdraw the offer completely because: "they are a small company, and had already filled their quota for the amount of foreign workers they could legally hire, and they would have to upgrade their business to a medium-size enterprise if they wanted to hire more foreign workers"... So now I'm in a position where I already quit my current job, in a foreign country with a visa that is soon to expire. Obviously this is something they as a company should have looked into before offering somebody a position!
