Phone screen with the recruiter that lasted about an hour discussing my background. Two weeks later, after multiple follow ups, she reached back out asking that I officially interview for a role the marketing team had decided would be a good fit. They skipped the next phone screen with the hiring manager and invited me directly onsite for three hours with five different people.
During the interview, the hiring manager/main decision maker was late and only spent 10 minutes speaking with me. I got great feedback in person - they said they liked my experience and they thought I'd be a great fit for the position, but they had to finish interviewing other candidates before they could make any offers.
Over the span of three weeks, I continued to follow up and got a couple of replies apologizing for the process taking a long time. The team finally reached out, weeks later, saying they were still interested in my candidacy but the next day, I got an automated email saying they were moving forward with other candidates, but they thought I could be a good fit for the organization in another capacity....after they had been the ones to choose the position for which I interviewed.
It was very frustrating that after going onsite and spending weeks chasing any kind of decision from them, I couldn't even get a personal message or phone call. I asked for feedback a few times and never heard from the recruiter or the hiring manager again. Overall, it was very unprofessional, but after reading other reviews, I'm not surprised. Looks like the interview process is a pretty good reflection of what it's like to work there, so I guess it's a blessing in disguise that I ended up with a great gig somewhere else.
