First it began with an HR screening that was about 30 mins.
Then an offline HackerRank coding assessment where I was given two questions. Both were very much so in the style of coding questions you see in traditional technicals just with the veil of it being related to business logic of the claims handling platform the job was for.
Next was an interview with the hiring manager discussing my experiences and what the team works on.
Then the final round was a 4 hour panel where you interview with various members of different teams and get put through the ringer on technical challenges.
This is where I declined the proceed further in the process. This was for a frontend role, but it is clear the company uses the outdated style of only testing for Data Structures and Algorithms rather than tests for actual work the applicant would do on the team. Not only is this a ridiculous set of tests for someone doing frontend work, but 4 hours worth of interview time to poke and prod an applicant with gotcha's is a red flag and is a practice slowly dying out in companies who know how to actually test their software applicants.
