I applied through other source. I interviewed at eBay
Interview
Most unprofessional HR process I have ever encountered. Their HR approached me for a role on LinkedIN and we organized a call between the recruiter and myself. She was 15 minutes late (!!!) first of all, which is a great first impression. She presented the role to me on the phone, however it didn´t quite fit my background.
I then saw a similar role (same level) for another business unit which exactly fit my background. I reached out to them saying this was more of a fit to me. Second phone call with another recruiter arranged and again, she was 10 minutes late. Time management should be worked on in that company. On top she constantly told me, that the position is more about xyz while I explained to her, this was exactly what I was doing. She had basically no understanding of what the position was about, nor what I did in the past, despite them approaching me.
She then said she would get back to me by the end of the week and I needed to go on another call with her (because she had to leave the call on time). None of this happened and when I reached out to her the week after, I got an out-of-office reply. I reached out to her colleague and it took a couple more days for her to send me an email saying they could not proceed further with me.
Sorry, but for a company of a size like this, Employer Branding and making a good impression should be a thing, if you want to attract good talent. I would never recommend anyone to apply or work for Ebay after this experience, but I wish them good luck going forward with hiring strategies like this.
Easy and fast from the start to finish. I applied via the website, not a personal referral and got a response almost immediately, no projects, a pleasant interview experience that got me through and hired quickly. This was precovid so things may be different now.
