I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at firsthand in May 2025
Interview
Had two rounds. The first interviewer gave insights on the role and expectations, from having to lead Product development to day to day work. Since it was a small team this was expected. The interviewer was pleasant. Also asked some generic questions about DBT.
The second round was technical focusing on a SQL challenge in Snowflake. This time around, the interviewer was not pleasant and seemed really disinterested. Throughout the interview interviewer was vaping and also did not provide a clear question and at times had to clarify. The question was straightforward and I answered it correctly. The interviewer stated I did well and explained to me what the next round will consist of and how to prepare.
I was excited about this role and this company's mission and decided to prepare before the interview was finalized. I didn't hear back for a few days and reached out to the recruiter only to be told that I didn't make to the next round. I was devastated and felt as if I was mocked.
Looking back at how unprofessional the interview went and the fact this was a mission driven organization, Made me question how employees are treated and more importantly, the clients they serve.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
- If a clean slate, what prior challenges did leadership face that you would have done differently.
- Two tables one consists of member and date of visits and another table member and time of consent. Find total count of visits and total count of visits where member visited before consenting.
(It was mentioned this was real data and a current issue that the company is facing which is concerning)
I applied through other source. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at firsthand (Orlando, FL)
Interview
It was a 3 step interview with various people. Also had to submit a writing sample that was similar to what the position entailed. Long wait time between interview and sample.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at firsthand in Mar 2024
Interview
Overall, the process was fine. I applied online and received a phone screening call. The second step was an in-person interview, and the interviewer was pleasant, professional, and informative. I ended up having four additional virtual interviews which were 30-minute calls with various members of leadership. These were all scheduled in a timely manner and were relatively straightforward.
My one complaint would be their lack of communication at the end of the process. I met with the final member of leadership on a Monday, and was called within a few hours and asked about my salary requirements. This, along with other statements from leadership led me to believe an offer was imminent, and I was told point-blank I would hear in 2-3 days. Fast forward to two weeks later and I finally received a call that they had gone a different direction, but they appreciated my experience etc. While everyone I met with was perfectly pleasant, I was frustrated by their lack of transparency at the end of the process and the amount of time it took them to notify me I wasn't hired.
