Interview
Application form completed and emailed, followed by a fast response and invitation to interview:
Writing assessment - how you would curate and market events of your selection from the current programme of events, including audience development strategy and channels of communication etc.
Followed by an interview that lasted somewhere between 45 - 60 minutes.
The interview itself was great, as were the people that interviewed me. I've been disappointed by the response I've received post-interview though. I had to wait over a week for a response, despite being told that they disliked keeping people waiting and was further only notified after prompting them for an answer. With other institutions or companies I've always received constructive criticism upon request and as yet I am still to receive any. It's quite disheartening to apply and get to interview stage and then hear nothing back. I appreciate they are a busy organisation and naturally don't have the time to respond to everyone. However, to get to that stage and hear nothing can leave job seekers feeling de-valued. This strikes me as something very much in disparity with mac's ethos (ensuring people do feel valued, through art).
