      Backend Engineer Interview

      24 Jul 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at mlytics

      Interview

Technical interviewer/lead comes off as extremely inexperienced, uses questions taken from a popular "brain teasers" book about the programming language in question, and struggled to answer basic questions I ask in every interview. The PM seemed to have their stuff together. One major red flag was they did not ask any questions about their core business proposal/tech: CDN, security, web protocols. It gave the impression that they aren't too selective about who they take on board.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

How would you handle a business request with a time constraint you knew was impossible to fulfill?
