    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took a week. I interviewed at Foster + Partners.

    Interview

My interview was on Tuesday at 9am. I arrived early (8:30) and before most staff. Lovely Anna, as always, welcomed me at the reception. I had a coffee in the bar while I wait and was later accompanied by the partner in charge of my interview to the main studio (8:45). We sat on the tables next to the river (where the interviews take place) and had a really good chat with him and a senior partner for about 1.5hrs. I showed them my portfolio, which was a mixture of models, videos, big drawings and a booklet. They were really enthusiastic, listened carefully to my projects, and asked very detailed questions along the way; for example about cladding details. Later, I was asked about my past work, my background, skills, short term plan, and vision. At the end of the interview, I was told they like to work with me, will check with HR, and contact me with a definite answer. I was called on Thursday by HR to confirm the placement and to send my documents over. I have to say I was headhunted by F+P by the senior partner who had seen my work previously, so I guess that also helped with the interview and the questions.
