Founded in 1984 by George Materna, who remains a valued member of the board today, Gattaca began life under the name ‘Matchmaker Personnel’. After early success in the market, our focus shifted towards engineering recruitment, with ‘Matchtech Engineering Ltd’ being born, before the two brands were merged to develop the ‘Matchtech Group’ in 2002. Since then, the group has continued to grow.
Here are some key milestones from our journey:
2006 - Matchtech Group Plc became listed on AIM, a sub-market of the London Stock Exchange. We also launched the professional services and training recruitment specialists Barclay Meade and Alderwood.
2013 - Awarded the ‘most respected agency’ title by our competitors. The same year, we acquired Oracle recruitment specialist Provanis.
2014 - Celebrated our 30th anniversary.
2015 - Matchtech Group Plc acquired Networkers International increasing our global capabilities, whilst retaining our localised approach.
2016 - Following the integration of Networkers into the business, we rebranded from Matchtech Group to Gattaca.
2017 - Acquired a 70% stake in Resourcing Solutions Ltd, an engineering recruiter with a specialist-focus on the rail market – a business which complements the services offered by Matchtech.

By bringing together two complementary recruitment sectors - engineering and technology - we draw on our long-established relationships with clients, candidates, educational institutions and trade bodies to source scarce skills from across the world and match them to the most appropriate roles, wherever they may be.

I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Gattaca (London, England) in June 2017.
Very easy interview. Just have a formal chat with the internal recruiter about your experience and your interest. Very important to love what you do and be very positive. Also be very driven as recruitment need people very focus on what you are doing and have to be ready to give your 100%. You will fail but you have to stand up again and work to achieve your targets and goals.
