QIAGEN – Why Work For Us?

QIAGEN is the leading global provider of Sample to Insight solutions to transform biological materials into valuable molecular insights.

QIAGEN sample technologies isolate and process DNA, RNA and proteins from blood, tissue and other materials. Assay technologies make these biomolecules visible and ready for analysis. Bioinformatics software and knowledge bases interpret data to report relevant, actionable insights. Automation solutions tie these together in seamless and cost-effective molecular testing workflows.

QIAGEN provides these workflows to more than 500,000 customers around the world in Molecular Diagnostics (human healthcare), Applied Testing (forensics, veterinary testing and food safety), Pharma (pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies) and Academia (life sciences research).

Our values form the basis of our business success

At QIAGEN, we work passionately to achieve our vision and goals. In doing so, we create value for our customers, patients, employees, partners and shareholders.

By relating to everyone in an open and honest manner, we foster trust and build solid relationships with customers and employees alike.

We inspire everyone at QIAGEN to strive for the best solution possible – whatever the situation – to be innovative when approaching new developments and to embrace new ideas, even if they seem unorthodox at first!

By fostering an environment of continuous learning and self-improvement, we rise to the challenge of keeping pace with the fast-moving world of technological advances.

Our Vision

Our vision imagines a world in which our Sample to Insight solutions bring improvements to a wide range of applications, such as medical screening and diagnostics, along with continued innovations to further our understanding of the molecular basis of human and veterinary disease.

Our Strategy

Our strategy is to expand our leadership in addressing the rapidly changing needs of customers, promote innovation and transform biological samples into valuable molecular insights.

Making improvements in life possible

QIAGEN cares is our comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility Program, an umbrella for the support to fight the spread of infectious diseases (such as human papilloma virus), facilitate access to point-of-care diagnostics for use in regions of the worlds with limited medical resources, and collaborate with scientists to combat the spread of animal epidemics in sub-Saharan Africa.

HPV Donation Program

Under the QIAGENcares program, we actively contribute to the fight against the spread of infectious diseases such as human papillomavirus (HPV), the main cause of cervical cancer. We’ve launched an initiative to donate 1 million HPV tests with the aim of bringing cervical cancer screening to the world's poorest nations.

Point-of-Care Diagnostics

In cooperation with PATH and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, we developed a new version of our state-of-the-art HPV test for public-health programs in low-resource, developing countries. The careHPV Test can be used without electricity or running water and offers HPV detection results in a matter of hours — filling a critical need for women traveling to clinics from isolated villages and for those women who may need to be treated the same day.

Combating Veterinary Disease

Our technologies are used to combat animal disease in both the industrialized and developing world. Specialized laboratories have access to a portfolio of a range of tests to detect common animal diseases, such as swine fever or bovine viral diarrhea. Mobile diagnostic devices developed by our researchers are being used to detect and combat animal pathogens on the savannah in Cameroon, a 5- or 6-hour drive by car, where local outbreaks can quickly turn into epidemics.

At QIAGEN, you’ll make a difference every day.

It’s what we do for our customers at the forefront of the molecular biology revolution, through to advancing patient health. It’s what we do working together in teams across our entire global organization. It’s the extraordinary contribution you can make as you build your career at QIAGEN. Join the revolution — see how you can make a difference to patients, to QIAGEN, to you.
At our locations across the globe, our employees talk about how the QIAGEN spirit fosters a culture of teamwork and collaboration, that allows both individuals and teams to grow in their professional and personal lives.

    Average Interview

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at QIAGEN (Manchester, England) in October 2017.

Initially went though a phone interview where my current work was briefly discussed, then I had a second face to face interview on site. I have been questioned on my technical knowledge initially, later stage of the interview involved questions to do with personal abilities that would be required to work as part of a multi disciplinary team.
