SThree – Why Work For Us?

SThree is an international specialist staffing organisation with offices in 16 countries around the world, operating across ten specialist brands and employing over 2,800 people.

Our People

Our people are our greatest strength, they're at the heart of everything we do. That's why we're so focused on development. Our learning and development programme nurtures exceptional recruiters and our management programme provides managers with the skills and behaviours to support and develop their people to achieve their potential.

Our Services

What we do is simple: we find the right roles for the right people in the right places. But it's the way we do it which sets us apart. Our consultants are not just filling a role – they are industry experts able to bring valuable market insight. They help clients and candidates develop innovative strategies to embrace the rapid social and technological change happening all around us. SThree recruiters work as the client’s trusted partner – something reflected in our high level of repeat business.

Our Clients

Our clients are the companies we work with and the candidates we find career opportunities for; one of the cornerstones of our success is providing a high level service to both. Our multi-brand, multi-sector model means no two days are the same for our recruiters because every client and candidate has different needs.

“I honestly believe we are a meritocratic business and you’re judged on what you put in. I believe that you can start in this company, and if you have the right core values that we’re looking for, and you want the opportunity then there are no limits to what you can achieve, irrespective of your background. Where you go – that’s up to you.” Gary Elden, CEO of SThree

Our specialist brands work with clients of all shapes and sizes, across a range of sectors around the world, sourcing and selecting the best candidates to meet their recruitment needs and deliver tangible benefits to both client and candidate.

Our CSR programme is about 'Transforming Lives through Skills & Work'. By focusing on what we do best we can achieve more for all involved.

Our employees can use two paid working days to volunteer, with a main focus on ‘Employability and Aspiration’ to nurture the career development of young people.

One of our initiatives is to run workshops to build the attendees’ confidence and skills to find a job.

Mital Jethwa, Recruitment Consultant at SThree, loved leading one of these workshops: “Being able to do this as part of your work makes SThree stand out from other employers. It helped me build my confidence and strengthen my ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people.”

Supporting Young People

We’re very proud of the fact that our people get involved in arranging and overseeing placements for young people from underprivileged backgrounds, ranging from work experiences to apprenticeships which can even lead to permanent employment.

Every year we take on a new cohort of apprentices to provide them with meaningful paid employment while they work towards an NVQ qualification. We also fund bursaries for university students, with a focus on STEM subjects.

Every scholar is invited to visit our SThree offices and take up work experience.

SThree Foundation

In 2016, we launched the SThree Foundation, an initiative supporting bright young people from underprivileged and diverse backgrounds into the STEM industries.

Our people lead a range of fundraising initiatives including sports tournaments, dress down days and personal challenges to raise money for SOS Children's Villages and help reach our £1m target for the10th anniversary in 2018. Additionally, SThree matches fundraising up to £50k per year.

As part of our partnership with SOS Children we’re sponsoring a house in Zambia providing a home for seven orphans, funding scholarships for African students who grew up in SOS Children Villages and nurturing local partnerships with SOS Children in Germany and the US.

We’re aware of our responsibility as a global organisation to play our part in preserving our planet. That’s why we conduct an annual carbon footprint exercise to monitor our environmental impact and meet legal obligations. We offset our carbon emissions by investing in renewable energy projects.

We also continuously explore new ways to increase efficiency across the organisation to reduce costs, emissions, waste and ensure our employees' time is used effectively by giving them access to Virtual Meeting Rooms.

We look after our people and made Diversity and Inclusion, Developing Talent, and Employee Engagement core parts of our business.

We want to make sure our people’s voices are heard. That’s why we make them part of our annual conferences, conduct employee engagement surveys and nurture various forums.

We’re proud that our achievements in employee engagement, service delivery and diversity have been recognised externally by winning awards such as APSCo Awards for Excellence, Top Employer and The Times Top 50 Employers for Women.

At SThree we understand the complexities of balancing a high-powered career with other important aspects of your life. That's why we are creating agile working environments with award winning technology. We are supporting personal development through continuous learning and mentoring programmes, and we've launched family support initiatives such as our maternity buddy scheme.

We pride ourselves on the support we provide to all our people, around the world. Our groundbreaking mentoring programme gives our staff access to personalised support to help them achieve their career goals, whilst growing opportunities for mentors themselves. Our in-house learning and development team provides unrivalled guidance with online tools, guides and resources for all aspects of personal career development.

A career with SThree can take you wherever you want to go. As an international staffing business we offer career opportunities all over the globe. Whether you fancy the buzz of New York, the bustle of Hong Kong or the beaches of Sydney, we can help you get there. We're proud of our company’s diverse, multinational culture.

SThree is actively working to achieve gender equality in the workplace. We set up Identity in 2011, a programme to support the development and progression of women within the organisation. Since Identity was established we have twice been recognised by the Times Top 50 Employers for Women. Natasha Clarke our Managing Partner is proud to have been Chair of Women In Recruitment since 2013. We want to give everyone, irrespective of their background, every opportunity to thrive; we’re leading the industry by helping companies develop their own diversity initiatives.

We are looking for people who can build strong, dynamic relationships with candidates and clients and understand their individual needs. We work in many different sectors such as IT, Banking, Life Sciences and Engineering & Energy and have relationships with all types of businesses from small start-ups to giant multi-nationals. The fact that so many companies continue to work with us is testament to the quality of our service.

I have been working at SThree full-time (More than 3 years)

I have worked in SThree's Bristol office for over 3 years. I would describe the environment to be supportive, friendly and inclusive. It is an enjoyable place to work which offers realistic and achievable career progression.

As in any recruitment role it does take a few months to really start understanding your market and the role.

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at SThree (London, England) in October 2017.

Really calm and nice interview with the manager of the team; she was helpful and answered all of my questions; I had a phone interview (20-30 min) and a face-to-face meeting (more than one hour)
