Technical Account Manager
Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

ConsNothing really. Maybe for some, the business of pension is boring. not for me.
We truly believe that in order to create products that suit a wide variety of people across the world, then we need a wide variety of people in our teams to help make them. At Smart, we celebrate the skills, expertise and culture having a diverse team can bring to the company. We have a diversity and inclusion board, made up of people from different areas of the business, that meets every few weeks to discuss initiatives or training that Smart can support – particularly in STEM and the retirement industry.
