Around the world there are 2.3 billion people with inadequate sanitation who use pit latrines which commonly overflow into the streets polluting water, causing a child to die every minute, and globally we lose £169 billion annually. WASE is a clean-tech start-up developing modular onsite wastewater treatment. Our EMR cells treat wastewater to produce clean water for irrigation, recover nutrients to create fertilisers and generate biogas that can be used for cooking or to produce electricity. The system provides 1.7 times more energy and is ten times faster than other energy recovery technologies like anaerobic digestion.
