    I applied online. I interviewed at Yieldify (London, England) in Oct 2021


    I was approached by an HR person and asked if I could participate in a first stage telephone interview. I agreed and was sent a calendly link so we could set up the appointment. On the day/time of the confirmed telephone interview, I waited patiently by my phone. The allocated time passed. I checked my email and there was no message from HR explaining the delay, so I sat by my phone for a further 30 mins as I assumed she must be running very late.

    I eventually sent a polite email to the HR person to enquire why she didn't show up to the meeting. There was no response. Unfortunately it's not that unusual for an HR person to not "show up". I appreciate that things can change very suddenly i.e. recruitment needs may change, more relevant CV's may be submitted, a great candidate may come along etc. But whatever the reason, I would expect an HR person to give me some kind of excuse/explanation for wasting my time! Another two days passed and still no response to my email.

    Then finally, three days after my confirmed interview was meant to take place, I get a generic message from careers@yieldify telling me my application has been unsuccessful and they have filled the role! I received no personal message from the HR person with an apology or explanation! Neither did i receive an acknowledgement that I was invited to an interview that never happened!

    I think it is disgusting that what is meant to be a professional company would waste a candidate's time like this and treat someone so shoddily! The way a company behaves during a recruitment process says a great deal about the company culture and the way they treat employees. So based on my experience I've had a lucky escape. I wish the new Head of Marketing lots of luck. Something tells me they are going to need it!
