Pros

There was always a lot of turnover, so on the bright side if you’re desperate for work there will be openings here. Also, the comp and benefits aren’t bad for such a small company.

Cons

I was appalled by the poor management. Almost all of the decisions were made by a select group of people who were friends with the CEO (nothing to do with qualifications). Most of the members of this inner circle hadn’t worked elsewhere and had no ideas about how to run a business. This is why after over 20 years in business, the company still has only 40-60 employees and had to be acquired in order to stay afloat. Oh, by the way, all of the positive reviews are written by the inner circle. Management asked them to write positive reviews to offset all of negative stuff that has been posted. That’s why I decided to write all this time later, to help set the record straight.

Low morale and poor leaders

Pros

Some of the people are wonderful! Work 40-hours and don't look back. No need to be on-call all of the time.

Cons

8 people have quit in less than a year. For a small company of about 65, it's affecting morale terribly. . Management ignores the issues. Clique-ish particularly among the top 5 people in the Company. No room for advancement despite claims. People are forced to do tasks that are way below their skills and experience and without a voice. It's a sad place to be.

Pros

WFH, PTO days, great people to work with on project teams

Cons

Corporate is looking at numbers rather than listening to employees concerns. Workload is high and has been since pandemic started. Re-organizing has started but it’s slow moving to see results for everyday way of working.

Pros

Flexible work schedule (including work from home options). Career development opportunities and trainings encouraged (as evidenced by multiple staff promotions each year). The company believes in innovation and the value of people. You will feel good about the work you are doing. The employees at ACI are truly the best. I feel lucky to work with such an incredible team every single day. On any given day if you walk around the office, you will see people working collaboratively as a team. The company offers fun activities and employee recognition (think ice cream trucks in the middle of the day, happy hours, parties, random lunches). Overall, it’s the best place I have ever worked.

Cons

Due to nature of the work, there can be extremely busy periods. Innovation is excellent, but sometimes the ideas take a life of their own. One obstacle of having so many long-standing employees in management positions, it may feel challenging for new staff to come in and feel like they are making an impact or to know where they fit. A year ago the company implemented a new hire buddy system and feedback loop for new hires that seems to be well received.

Pros

None for me. See below.

Cons

Personally for me, I accepted the job offer because based on the interview, I thought I would be working with loyal people who care for the growth and development of their employees. Instead, what I found was that my manager expected me to know how to do my job without any training or support. Despite that, I genuinely tried to do my job to the best of my ability. In my interim review, I was told I was awesome and that they couldn't be happier with my progress. The only thing said that wasn't exactly positive was that by my 1 year mark, I should be able to independently complete my deliverables without them having to be reviewed. Before I had the chance to show them that I could work independently, less than a month later, I was let go. I was told I was not a fit for that company and that I had to leave the next day. How nice of them to give me a one day notice and 5 days pay afterwards...which coincidentally turned out to be the vacation days I accrued and never took. No additional severance at all. But that's not even the worst part....the part that hurt most was getting no warning at all and having my manager pretend like everything was going okay. Isn't it the managers job to, hmmm, I don't know....MANAGE?!

Pros

People who work here are smart, hard working, client focused and efficient. Management genuinely cares about the staff and promotes work/ life balances. The office is a bright, clean environment. Desks are a nice size and the chairs are comfortable. People are kind to one another.

Cons

The services we provide to clients are complex and the work is fast paced. You need to be quick and smart to work here and motivated to do well. If you want to hide under the radar this will not be the place for you. Clients are demanding and project work can be complicated.
