Pros

Lots of personal banking perks and a great work life balance for the vast majority of teams. A huge variety of roles to move into if you want to move sideways.

Cons

Compensation was slightly below market during my tenure across Corporate Banking and Sales & Trading. Plenty of employees are very content with safety and comfort of roles here so have no desire or ambition to advance. This creates stagnant & complacent teams.

Pretty good benefits

Pros

Benefits are good, cannot complain much.

Cons

Restructuring is not uncommon. Support was not as great for some teams during the lockdown and has decreased morale (not good for mental health) for some.

Pros

ASB is a fantastic and relatively progressive organisation, where you can make a meaningful impact in people's lives. The management structure are open to discussion and challenge.

Cons

Hierarchy can sometimes get in the way of progress, as with most organisations.
