Pros

The offices are lovely and there was a lot of flexibility within the hybrid working model. HR seemed well engaged with staff and there was a positive welcome for new employees. IT problems were fixed easily and with little trouble.

Cons

Real issues with offering appropriate training at all levels, resulting is staff floundering and poor management. This is both unpleasant in a working environment and bad for business. I felt alone in my experiences of micromanagement and gaslighting, however the reviews on this page suggest it may be a company wide problem. Whilst the flexible working policy seems a positive thing, it actually means there is an culture of staff working unhealthily long hours unchecked.

As part of our employee experience across AXON, we continually offer open feedback through an employee’s lifecycle – from one-to-one’s, employee survey’s and exit interviews, to receive open and constructive feedback, so we can genuinely listen, monitor, and continually grow as a business and make sure our employees wellbeing, development and working environments are at the core of what we do. Micromanagement in abundance

Pros

Pleasant office space, frequent complimentary food and drink.

Cons

You have to work within the strict boundaries of the team leader - if it wasn't done precisely as team leader would have done it, it was criticised - I am an experienced professional and have never encountered so much negativity. Your time is mostly spent on pointless meetings, leaving little time to do the real work, which results in having to work overtime. Likes to bang on about how great it is and buys its own self-hype. High turnover as not many can stand the micromanagement culture long-term. Probably why many staff are pretty young.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment—we really value feedback so we can learn what’s working well and how we can continue to find ways to improve upon life at AXON. We are pleased that you enjoyed the office space – we love it, especially the roof terrace, the great views, everyone’s electric sit-stand desks, and our sociable kitchen area. The fruit (and cake!) seem to be eaten faster than we can put them out (!), and our Friday wine o’clocks continue to be well-attended, so we’re glad people enjoy these aspects. However, naturally, I am disappointed to hear of your other experiences. We try to enable team members at every level to have opportunities to lead on activities and learn on the job. We also need to ensure we’re meeting client expectations, with our clients often having specific preferences or processes that we need to follow. This often results in someone more senior providing feedback, to help individuals grow, and to ensure we’re on target with client expectations. We believe this type of supportive culture has helped us have such high retention rates—we’re really proud we had only 7% voluntary turnover last year, which is stonkingly below the industry norm around 20%. In all honesty, we would love to find a way to have fewer meetings, but given the need for frequent communication across account teams often in different locations and/or time zones, to make sure everyone is in the loop at all times, we try to strike a balance in having an ‘email culture’ vs ‘meeting-tastic’. Clearly it’s a tough balancing act. But we continually evaluate our internal processes, so that we can empower people to do their jobs as effectively and enjoyably as possible whilst meeting client expectations. And if there are ways to improve, we certainly want to do so. So thank you once again for your comments; we will seek feedback from our current teams to see if these are areas that could be further improved and how best to do so, based on their perspectives. Awful place to work - cliquey

Pros

Virtually no pros apart from the training programmes they have and some of the clients you get to work on.

Cons

- cliquey employees - no work life balance - they hire anyone but only respect those of a certain personality type - micromanaging from managers - staff claim to be supportive of each other but will happily throw you under the bus - work culture is similar to that of a sorority or fraternity - bullying culture

I’m absolutely shocked and upset by this comment–I’m so very sorry this has been your experience. Bullying of any kind absolutely will not be tolerated. I notice you’re a current employee. Can you please reach out to either our HR Director Antonia Katsambis or myself as a matter of urgency? Your comments will be kept in strictest confidence, but I do want to ensure we’re able to resolve this and make this a positive workplace for you as a matter of priority. Please feel free to speak with me after hours if you prefer. mdini@axon-com.com or akatsambis@axon-com.com Miranda Dini, Managing Partner
