Execs are uncomfortable with the fact that this is employee monitoring software. They try and try to spin it into "workforce analytics so teams can work smarter" but it's nonsense. The majority of customers use this to fire employees that aren't working enough hours. If you work here, your activity will be monitored. The websites you visit, the chats you have with coworkers, emails...everything. The best ideas don't win here, it heavily depends on who is saying it and whether or not they kissed up to the right execs. Toxic sales culture. Leader would get on daily morning calls with 40+ sales people during the pandemic and call out individuals without warning to berate them. Actual quote heard often "anyone wanna go head to head with the old man? tell him he's wrong?". This was the sales leader talking about himself. Take a guess if any of those sales people felt like they could speak openly or honestly with this dare. Same leader would open up ActivTrak during the call and show "who's been working the hardest" praising those who were working 10hrs or more a day and belittling others for working less. Often would say outlandish things like "I would tell you that you're in the wrong profession if you aren't making XX number of calls a day" Tired and old Marketing dept. Leader there is stuck in trying patterns from the early 2000s that worked at Solarwinds and other companies, but isn't relevant in today's market.
