Management at the time I worked (not 2022) I worked for this company several years ago as a CNA, and my experience during that time had a lasting impact on me. While working there, I was seriously injured during a patient care situation where I felt additional assistance would have been helpful. After the injury, I still found myself moving patients on my own, which was very difficult physically. At the time, I was young and did not fully understand my workplace rights or how to advocate for myself regarding safety concerns. During my time there, I was also sexually assaulted by a patient. This was an extremely difficult experience, and it affected me for a long time afterward. Looking back, I wish I had known more about my rights and the steps I could have taken to address the situation. The one positive part of my experience was the night nurse I worked under, who showed genuine care and concern for my wellbeing. Because of my experiences, I personally would encourage CNAs and nurses to carefully consider whether a workplace provides strong support and safety measures for staff. I hope conditions and policies have improved since the time I worked there.
