Pros

Those that are on the same level are very friendly and will help out whenever they can.

Cons

The management truly is out of touch, with the boss micromanaging and to the point of lying to the customer about an event that is not happening. Absolutely horrendous pay, not worth the amount they are paying considering that you will be doing a job of multiple people (3+). They also refused to listen to any suggestions regarding the website and retain many confusing elements that often lead the to backend to spew lies in order to retain the customer or appease them. Case and point, should any laptop be out of stock, they will never ever list it as out of stock, only under preorder, and their mentioned lead time will always be around 7-15, when in reality, the next batch comes in around 2 months.

Pros

Several colleagues who were kind and consistently helpful were regrettably laid off due to their refusal to suck up to the bosses and team leaders. Although some of the remaining employees are kind, it is wise to be mindful of hidden agendas and the widespread herd mentality among some individuals.

Cons

My time at Aftershock PC has been an absolute nightmare. Team leaders are bullies, and the management is utterly useless. They make empty promises about salary increases, career advancements, and better working conditions, but nothing ever happens. The pay is ridiculously low for the amount of work expected. The unfairness and favoritism are appalling. Hardworking employees are overlooked while management's favorites, who do the bare minimum, get ahead. Some coworkers act like your boss and show unnecessary attitude, and managers do nothing about it except tell you to work it out despite you trying to solve the issue on your own many times The company is severely understaffed, causing immense stress and frustration. The high turnover rate means those who stay are left to pick up the slack without any support or acknowledgment. Career advancement is a joke; there's no opportunity to move up, and management doesn't care. To make matters worse, bosses make changes without any input from the employees who face the consequences firsthand. They expect employees to embrace and become experts in these changes immediately, without any proper training or support. Furthermore, they're obsessed with avoiding one-star reviews but still use low-quality, crappy parts to build PCs, resulting in angry customers that we have to deal with. It's ultimately the company's fault due to the poor materials they use and the untrained staff. They waste excessive amounts of budget on marketing instead of properly training their employees. Avoid Aftershock PC at all costs. They don’t value their employees, and working here is a complete waste of time and effort.

Pros

- If you just need a part time job as your FIRST experience, sure. - Easy to get in - If you can, try getting into their marketing team instead because their lives (and work environment) is much better. AVOID any of the ground level jobs.

Cons

- NO lunch time. Yep, you heard that right. No system for lunch, something as basic as that is looked over since there is often an overwhelming amount of customers to sales staff. Expect your "lunchbreak" to be around 4pm. - Customers will rage at you daily since the computers spoil easily, so be prepared to be the companies' punching bag - Management (middle & top) wont care about the guys on the ground, often dismissing and not taking concerns seriously. - Work load is a mess, and you will frequently run around different departments (from servicing, to admin, to future orders, consultations and collections) - NO commission (at least when i left), which gives you no incentive to make sales - You will frequently see the power imbalance in the management on day to day basis. There are very clear favorites in Aftershock, and if you arent one of them, you will have a bad life. - Favoritism with female employees. Although i have to say, in a tech company this is SADLY not new. But yes, girls get treated much better here. (especially if you are chinese) - Non existent HR, who only makes themselves known when they remind you to not share salary pay. - Absolutely NO job progression. Seriously, this is a dead end job. You can contribute as much as you want to this company, but theres a reason people quit often. You can experience all you need in 2 weeks and the rest of the time, you are basically stuck. - People who work here for about 2 years are still stuck in the same position with no real bump to their pay - Some very arrogant leaders in top management, who gossip and talk behind people's back.
