Mismanaged and Questionable ethics

Pros

Remote work, but with different time zones, this wasn’t always a pro.

Cons

Poorly managed, passive aggressive comments as well as veiled threats to employees. Unreasonable and unknown metrics for employees to base their performance on, creates an increased stress level. Lots of focus on making the “google of due diligence,” but don’t do their own to verify if they’re actually allowed to retain the personally identifiable info for subjects of investigations in their system indefinitely (esp without consent of subject being investigated). “Unlimited” PTO is just a way to not really pay benefits (well known in the start up world), as employees are guilted for not putting the company first. Salaries are arbitrary and a joke - instead of paying bonuses or raises, the CEO tried to book a basketball arena for a holiday party, expecting employees to travel across the country on their own money for a holiday party no one wanted. The party got cancelled, allegedly bc of COVID. Management constantly talks down to staff, even talking negatively about/trash talking other staff members. C-suite is focused on out sourcing labor to cheaper overseas options. Massive lay offs, half the staff was lost over the last year and benefits weren’t properly paid to those laid off. Avoid this company. Plenty of other remote work opportunities. Wondering how long it’ll take before storing subject info implicates employees.

Pros

There are truthfully no great reasons to work at this company.

Cons

The company tried to lure you in with the false idea of “Unlimited PTO” when it is just their way to not have to pay you for any vacation time when you are let go. The job sets you up for consistent burnout and their “investigations” business model is poor. The company violates a series of policies when it comes to investigations and pretty much makes the employees past and present an accessory to those violations. For a remote job, there is no good work-life balance. Due to their salaried positions, they succeed in getting employees to work almost 80 hour weeks with no room for extra pay and very little room for advancement. The company is big on putting on more responsibility to an employee, but does not believe in compensating them for such. The company makes many promises that they have failed to keep up with.

Pros

You get to work from home. There are some people who work there who are good people.

Cons

I was there since 2021, so I got a full look at this company. There is little to no organization. Their training was dismal, major decisions were made at the last second and then reversed after that, and is just generally poorly run. They recently laid off a large portion of their staff, including the people who had the experience and knowledge that kept the company going. I do not expect them to last much longer.
