Pros
The only pro is it’s a fully remote job
Cons
I understand that it’s not illegal to lay off someone who is pregnant but Altisource was extremely unprofessional of laying me off 7 months pregnant with no prior notice or heads up. Regardless if it’s not a law,, I’m sure some can agree it is very unethical to not give someone considerable time to seek another job at such short notice, especially in this economy no matter the circumstances pregnant or not. Prior to the lay off, Altisource work environment was so unprofessional that HR was involved. Zero training is absolutely insane for a company not to have. The biggest issue was incompetent managers who micro manage and retaliate when bringing workplace issues to their attention. Mind you, these issues were brought up for solutions 100% professional problems to improve the team and for our clients that sadly not even for personal or emotional problems faced in the workplace in lieu of the fear of retaliation from a particular manager who was an unfixable bully. This company has absolutely zero structure or anything in place that allows employees to function effectively. Everyone works so blindly and the leadership is equally as confused. The solution to all this was to hire even more incompetent managers to which one would tell our team that they were up for the challenge and dared us to go to HR to complain again as some kind of joke. Even though it is extremely difficult to prove retaliation I truly believe in my opinion that it is what occurred and they went about it with a “mass” layoff of the 7 employees left of the hundreds we started off with three years ago. It’s no coincidence that other the reviews also mainly bring up retaliation in the workplace. Overall, working at Altisource felt like a fever dream.
