Pros

-Really wonderful colleagues. -I learned quite a lot from those around me. There were a lot of bright, driven, and thoughtful people at Alyce. -Feedback culture was very transparent and candid, which I like.

Cons

Culture took a huge hit with Covid. There was no People Ops team to keep any sort of alignment across the org, despite pleas of many many people for many many months to have a **TRUE** HR/People ops professional. How can this be an organization that touts "personal experience" when they can't even provide that to their own employees. Please stop letting egos get in the way, and do what is best for the employees. Much of leadership has never scaled a tech company before. Decisions are often made based on seniority, rather than what actually makes sense. Watching them make a big show about DE&I this summer, only to blatantly mistreat the few people of color in the organization is shameful. During the beginning of Covid, we experienced layoffs, and those that were left were asked to take a paycut, while bearing an increased workload, due to the business doing really well in spite of the pandemic. If you were struggling in any way, there was no support -- only passive aggressive threats to your job. The product itself is smoke and mirrors. It's very clunky, non intuitive, or user friendly. The idea behind it is very admirable, but the execution needs work. They claim to be an AI software, but they really just outsource the "AI" work to cheap labor in the Philippines.

Pros

- Great unique perspective and idea with a solution that works - Really smart, motivated people at the management and individual contributor level

Cons

- Leadership is incredibly inexperienced, and it's been to a huge detriment to the business. - Leadership is incredibly egotistical. Not a lot of autonomy given or trust given to employees outside of a very very very small inner circle at the leadership level. - Leadership often speaks poorly of other employees behind their backs to other employees. Very disempowering and demotivating. - Constant pivots in the business make it feel like you're spinning your wheels on things that don't really matter in the long run. - The overall vision for the business is unclear, and the path to get there is even more unclear. Not enough operators at the leadership level who have grown and scaled SaaS businesses before. - Poor communication and collaboration between departments, starting at the leadership level.

Pros

Great company, unique perspectives, diverse work environment, and intelligent ambitious colleagues that truly care for one another.

Cons

- Leadership is incredibly inexperienced. There are a lot of first-time managers leading departments without having had proper management training, and it shows. - Lack of transparency about where the company is going, and where we fit into the competitive landscape. This is discussed behind closed doors, within the 'OG' employee group and leadership, but not shared with the rest of the company -There is a lot of nepotism
