I have been working at Amey full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Gain a qualification whilst on the programme
    - Connections to higher ups

    Cons

It's difficult when you are a graduate in a company that has a graduate scheme, but doesn't. I'll explain what that means, I am here as a graduate on this scheme but there is no structure what so ever, I feel like a spare part. I struggle to find ways to gain the skills and the knowledge I need to be able to get to where I need to be.
Discussing with other graduates, this is the consensus amongst all of us. No structure, no real way to develop and there is a high likelihood that you will be stuck with administrative work for majority of your time.

You have to be strong willed for a scheme like this, if you do not make yourself heard you will end up doing nothing what so ever.

They now stick you with a qualification which yes is a good thing but this is what you need to consider, the course length plus the two years you are then "indebted" to the company for. You are obliged to stay with the company for another 2 years after the course end or face paying back the course fees. This although makes sense, doesn't when you feel like you are stuck in a dead end.

    Advice to Management

Create a better programme structure, unfortunately too many of your graduates feel like me or worse. This scheme could be amazing if you had set goals, these could be generic goals that are tailored per contract but all the same, make us feel wanted, like we have a real place in this company. The morale amongst every single one of the graduates is not high at all.

I have been working at Amey full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

New Management. We has a team have put over 60 years service to grounds services around the schools in Northampton and Amey. Two weeks ago we were called in to the office and told we were going to be tupeed over to a new company. We asked why they could not give a reason we have had no back up by management and very little support by HR, Its a joke after all the hard work we have put in then to be dumped by Amey in this way. We all feel very let down by Amey we all joined Amey because we all wanted to work for then and not another firm, They have not tried to offer us other jobs withing Amey Not even the Ceo is commented on this matter what a let down.

    Cons

We loved out jobs and working for Amey and The Benefits.

    Advice to Management

You Really need to start looking after your staff before its too late without the workers you lot dont have a job.
