Current Employee - Graduate Engineer in Penrith, England

I have been working at Amey full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Competitive salary for the work, depends on the region some offices are more busy whilst others are more relaxed like the North West Region. Very easy to talk to colleagues and senior, open in that aspect.

    Cons

Due to being less busy, there is a poor/limited selection of projects mostly dependant on clients and very little development opportunities from it. This definitely needs improving. Projects are really simple that the clients are able to make decisions without much input from designers, which makes it feel useless considering you would need to spend alot of time doing paperwork. Reaching 2 years i dont feel i have gained the skills expected for a 2 years programme which is an issue as if you have done 2 years usually no longer eligible for entry-level work.
