Management is very unsupportive, some are bullies, they run the business mainly on micro management and fear using KPIs and constantly moving goalposts as a way to manipulate staff . Treat staff in some truly horrible ways. Uncaring, unrealistic. Some staff have been driven out of the company or have to go through ordeals due to threats to egos. Management turn a blind eye or help keep the pressure on. The confusion is kept going with the constant changing of focus. managers pressurise staff. Not nice and it has broken many good people. Terrible support from the support office in Manchester. Mainly just there to ‘keep staff in line’. There is a blame culture that operates that just goes completely unchecked, it is accepted, nobody likes to take responsibility for anything. New ideas are frowned upon. Different ways of working, perhaps smarter ways are not encouraged, infact actively discouraged, especially if somebody ‘outside of the corporate clique’ would receive credit, that would not be allowed to happen, even if the outcome were of great benefit. Quite a negative environment overall and one best avoided if possible. Good ideas are generally stolen by management, then repackaged without any credit to the original staff. Schoolyard group mentality with teachers pets. Not a healthy place to be. Subjective appraisal scheme linked to salary review with sliding scale salaries that can go up or down, poor job security. Management are generally closed minded.
