Pros
The salaries they pay are competitive
Cons
A pernicious and corrosive culture set by the management, who simultaeously refuse to accept ANY responsibility for the culture of the organisation. A wildly outdated style of management that considers the only way to motivate staff is to bully then and incentivise them exclusively with money. For example, I was personally told "don't thank him/her, he's/she's doing his/her ~explitive~ job" when I thanked a colleague for something he/she had done for me. This was replicated a dozen time a week as a continuous drumbeat of bullying and distain for staff (women were called ugly and fat, employees told they were useless, people told they had done a shitjob etc - all "jokes" routinely made by senior management in front of the employee's colleagues. A mysoginistic attitude. A reflexive assumption that if there was a problem it was because their employees were "useless" or lazy rather than reflecting on whether the problem was the management. I would not have believed all this to be possible in the modern world, but I witnessed it on a daily basis. Take my word for it that I am not a bitter ex employee who was fired - I am an ex employee who left in a state of total disbelief at what I had witnessed. My only regret? That I didn't leave sooner.
