There is not a single positive reason to work for this company. I am a professional business woman having had my own clothing stores in the past. I worked hard for this company, I increased my store locations sales 45% in January over last year. I achieved the (ridiculously, insulting amount of $70) level one Bonus in December, something this location had only achieved once in 2 years. I have never in my life seen a company run so poorly. The Suzanne's systems are completely archaic, the company is cheap beyond belief and they have no idea how the managers actually run their locations. Ridiculously redundant reports and endless tasks are to be done, when a simple upgrade to their 30 year old systems could help dramatically. I often said the upper management needs to spend one month in a store as a manager as they have no idea what kind of ridiculous pressure and expectations they put on their managers, if they did this guaranteed they would make dozens of changes. The workload given to managers is ridiculous. Managers are expected to do EVERYTHING. Including being professional cleaners and handywomen who are expected to climb ladders and redesign all metal wall fixtures every few months, because unlike other retail stores who have figured this out over time they cannot figure out which is the best way to display their garments. All current managers complain bitterly to each other yet they continue to spend way more than the 40 hours they are only allowed to put on the schedule, some come in and work on their days off to get the work done. The company expects many managers to work all day without any relief or any break, they will not pay to have locations have cover shifts. I honestly could give you pages of the poor treatment and disrespect that Suzanne's, mother company being Auld Phillips gives to their employees. I, am not one to accept disrespect towards myself or my staff, when I told the company of things that were not acceptable, they fired me. Also, to show you the lack of integrity upper management has in this company, they put on my R.O.E. that I quit, so that I could not apply for E.I. This is a lie, and they will be changing that. My advice to anyone considering working for this company is run as fast as you can in the other direction. The retail management industry is quite often a challenging industry but I am sure there are many many other choices one can make rather than working for this bottom of the barrel company, Suzanne's, Auld Phillips.
