Reasonable compensation, generous vacation and good extended health coverage.

Overwork/burnout of support staff, job insecurity, communication breakdown between divisions and disconnected executive team.

Pros

This is a charity raising money for the BC Cancer Agency - everyone there is passionate about the cause. At the same time, it is run with all the structure and focus of a business. The organization invests in employees, and does great work to change the lives of people with cancer.

Cons

It can be hard to work so closely with the cancer Agency if you have a personal experience with cancer

-Great mission and purpose. Your work really does make an impact -Decent benefits, travel/dental/healthcare/vacation/sick days -Many great coworkers who are well-rounded people -Some possibility for advancement depending on department

Cons

-Overwork and burnout is highly common, leading to high turnover -Work environment is a bit isolating and social culture is lacking -Lack of transparency and communication from senior leadership -High pressure environment in fundraising
