1. Management - management sucks, managers don't know how to manage projects, managers here think this as a retirement company, they sit don't do anything, don't know how to plan don't know how to execute plan. Will ask you to plan your task and once you do it they will start giving you other tasks other than plan and they want you to work on plan as well as assigned task. Managers think they know everything but they are too much outdated.
2. Stretching working hours - so much work will be assigned to you that you wont be able to complete it on time and then managers will force you to start working late night and the hiring depends on people leaving job not on requirement in the projects.
3. No employee benefits - no extra pay for late work, no salary on time, no dinner or lunch facility or reimbursement ,
4. Limit for tea/coffee - Tea and coffee is limited in the company, unlike other companies who have unlimited tea coffee benefit, basecamp has 21 coupons (1 tea per day), other than that you want you have to pay for it.
5. Micro management - managers will count your breaks (including washroom), they have problem with your tea/coffee breaks as well as they will come and sit behind or beside you so that you work and will keep on disturbing you again and again, also they will come in every 15 min for status.
6. Project technologies - the company still works on VB.net which they are using 10 years and managers don't want to upgrade any technologies and process, people and manager working here still have problem in using GIT and other new and advanced project development tools, they just want to stick with what they have been using.
7. Appraisal not on time - Company deliberately delays the increment by 3 to 4 months every year (due to unavoidable reason, financial problems, etc..etc), this is the first and i guess last company i saw which doesn't provide arrears, they don't have arrears policy, so if u r increment is pending for 3 to 4 months there is no compensation or arrears for that.
8. Low increments - Doesn't matter how good you perform, or how much responsibility you are handling at the end of the year, you will get a basic hike not much and if you are not satisfied with you, they wont do anything about it and they dont look at the performance they look at the years of exp and basic salary for that exp.
9. No Appreciation only demotivation - even after working hard, managers will not motivate or appreciate you for your work, even on small issue they will make a scene in the center of office which is really embarrassing.
11. Partiality - Manager are partial regarding rules and regulations, they will impose all the rules to specific people they have problem with and wont say a word to others and they expect dev. to follow all the rules whereas they dont follow any of it either, they want dev to flatter them only then they will be nce to dev.
12. Contry for everything - even for diwali decoration company wants employees to contry, no gifts on diwali only small sweets box in a poly bag.
13. No personal space - for applying leave your managers wants to know every detail before approving the leave and afterwards they use your given reasons to point out reason for your pending work, your plan includes your leaves as a part of working day how ridiculous that is
14. Salary not on time - in 2.5 years of my tenure i faced salary delay for almost 4 to 5 times and that too continuous for months like salary not delayed by 2 or 3 days its delayed by 15 to 20 days even months and in last couple of months it has came in installments, and has been pending for two whole months
16. HR department - HR department sucks, for every small thing you have to mail HR like salary slip and other stuff and they are so slow that they dont even reply you on your mails for days and same goes for everything, HR dept has to be the most energetic dept but here is the most dull dept.
17. Parking - This is first company i found where employee has to park there vehicle at their risk, even having an office in SEZ zone they don't provide parking, its only available for specific people, for rest of the employees its paid, you have to pay or else park it in the open ground.
