I have been working at BlackRock full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great work/life balance in some teams, you are exposed to many very senior leaders at junior level. Comp is on average.

    Cons

Everything is good if you are in an investment team.

    Advice to Management

Invest in juniors, identify the talent and train them. Don't just throw all the dirty work at them.

I have been working at BlackRock (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nice people but the HR level involved too heavily in most of business life.

    Cons

    Incredibly inconsistent and inefficient processes.

    Advice to Management

Try and arrange a coherent policy which embraces change rather than simply thinking change is already happening.

I have been working at BlackRock full-time

    Pros

Competitive salary and bonus. Challenging environment and potential career progression.

    Cons

Long working hours with very little work life flexibility. Poor people management and lack of support in day to day job. Very often your career progression is based on your connections and whether you have a decent people manager. Consider a role here carefully if you have a family or planning to have one in the future.

    Advice to Management

Understand how to be manage people. Take the necessary courses and steps to understand that a neglectful and passive aggressive attitude to your staff members does not encourage productivity or loyalty. Increase awareness of how long working hours and extremely high expectations can have a very detrimental impact on employee moral.
