Pros

You get to work outdoors, lots of autonomy. Schedule is great, especially if you take vacations.

Cons

High turnover, so unstable work community. Field staff feedback isn't taken seriously. Unprofessional management in general - really cliquey and not very competent.

Pros

-great schedule if you are looking for shift work -pay is OK, especially compared to other guiding jobs -meet some great people and community from co guiding

Cons

-lots of cultural appropriation that isn't called to attention -lots of cis white men in positions of power that don't pay much attention to the experience of their staff that hold more marginalized identities. -burnout!!! You're being paid to respond to active crisis without the immediate help of a professional licensed clinician.
